Experience thrilling night game drives in Kruger, cruise the Chobe River, and marvel at the beauty of Victoria Falls.

Day 1: – Johannesburg

  • Arrive at Johannesburg, OR Thambo Airport.
  • Takavada African Safaris will collect guests from the airport and transfer them to their accommodation – Sugar Rose Guest House
  • Dinner will be served at the Guest House.

Day 2: – Johannesburg

  • A full-day Soweto tour  is scheduled. Time permitting, there will also be a visit to the Apartheid museum
  • Dinner will be at Sugar Rose Guest House.

Day 3: – Manzini

  • A moderate to long driving day (approximately 450 km) includes a border crossing into Swaziland. Visas will be issued at the border, and no fees are required.
  • South African Rand is accepted as legal tender in Swaziland.
  • Optional stops for local crafts and food at Mantenga Craft & Lifestyle Centre   and Malandela centre , which also offers lunch and shopping opportunities. ‘Gone Rural’ at Malandela’s Centre is a unique shop featuring local women’s crafts.
  • Overnight stay at Summerfield Resort , approximately 30 km from Malandela’s Centre.

Day 4: – Mkhaya Game Reserve

  • Pick-up at 10 am, with an approximate 60 km drive from Summerfield Resort to the pick-up point.
  • Experience a private game reserve with excellent opportunities to view rhinos.
  • Full board accommodation includes three 4×4 game drives.
  • Accommodation will be in stone cottages with en-suite facilities.
  • Please note: Only smaller day bags are permitted; most luggage will be securely stored where the van is left.

Day 5: –  Hlane National Park

  • Departure from Mkhaya at 10 am, including a game drive upon exiting the park. Transit to Hlane (approximately 60 km from the drop-off point).
  • Accommodation in Rondavel huts at Ndlovu Camp.
  • Enjoy a leisurely afternoon watching wildlife around the camp’s watering hole.

Day 6: – Hlane National Park

  • Morning game drive, followed by an afternoon game walk.

Day 7: – Kruger National Park

  • Late morning departure. Border crossing into South Africa; total distance approximately 150 km.
  • Afternoon game drive in Kruger National Park after check-in, followed by a night game drive (the only night game drive on the tour).
  • Early morning game drives in Kruger National Park on Day 8 before exiting the park.
  • Accommodation at Rhino Lodge Guest House, featuring multi-room cottages and multiple bathrooms.

Day 8: – Hoedspruit

  • Afternoon visit to the Maholoholo Wildlife Orphanage.
  • This will be a long driving day, including a detour to Maholoholo Wildlife Orphanage.  
  •  located approximately 40 km from Hoedspruit.
  • Overnight accommodation will be at Belgium Inn

***BOTSWANA***

  • Please be aware that accommodation standards in Botswana may be lower than those in Swaziland and South Africa due to limited options in the remote areas visited.
  • Several consecutive long driving days are expected between locations.

Day 9: – Khama Rhino Sanctuary

  • A long driving day (approximately 500 km), including a border crossing into Botswana.
  • Exchange South African Rand for Botswana Pula before entering Botswana.
  • Accommodation in double room chalets with en-suite facilities.

Day 10: – Khama Rhino Sanctuary

  • Early morning and late afternoon game drives in Khama Rhino Park.
  • Accommodation in double room chalets with en-suite facilities.

Day 11: – Nata

  • Morning game drive before departure for Nata.
  • Brief shopping stop in Palapye town.
  • Long driving day (approximately 400 km) to reach Kasane.

Day 12: – Kasane

  • Long drive (approximately 320 km), departing early to reach the Kasane Immigration Office for check-in procedures.
  • Meet the Chobe Princess  representative who will assist with luggage. Complete passport control for Botswana and Namibia.
  • Boat transfer to the Chobe Princess for induction and lunch/snacks on board (lunch served before 3 pm, snacks from 3 pm onwards).
  • Afternoon at leisure.

Day 13: – Chobe River

  • Full day spent on the Chobe Princess
  • Fresh coffee and tea available from 6:30 am in the dining or lounge area, offering scenic views.
  • Plated breakfast is served from 8 am, with the morning at leisure.
  • Guests may relax onboard with a book and binoculars or explore the Chobe River by tender boat with an experienced guide. Wildlife and birdlife viewing opportunities abound. For those seeking adventure, tiger fishing is available on the Chobe and Zambezi Rivers.
  • Buffet lunch served while cruising along the Chobe River and National Park.
  • Afternoon free for rest or optional river safari or fishing excursions.
  • Pre-dinner snacks and drinks served at 7:30 pm, followed by a three-course plated dinner.

***ZIMBABWE***

Day 14: – Hwange National Park

  • Disembark the houseboat around 8 am after breakfast.
  • Border crossing into Zimbabwe, where visas are obtained at the border and fees are payable in USD.
  • Short stop in Victoria Falls town for shopping, followed by late afternoon check-in at

Day 15: – Hwange National Park

  • Full-day game drive in Hwange National Park.

Day 16: – Victoria Falls

  • Drive to Victoria Falls (approximately 180 km) for a guided tour of the falls.
  • Accommodation at IlalaLodge , Victoria Falls.

Day 17: – Victoria Falls

Day 18: – Tour End

  • Tour concludes.

Whats not included

  • All other drinks not provided on the truck.

  • All optional activities, including game drives not listed in the itinerary.
  • Any personal transfers required after the tour start or finish date.
  • Medication, except for basic first aid.
  • Gratuities.
  • Visas and any tourist levies or entry charges applicable in any country.
  • Lunch on Day 19 in Victoria Falls.

Pricing and price guarantee

  • The prices of all tours are calculated using exchange rates correct at the time of publication. Fluctuations in these exchange rates, taxes, government policies or local operator costs may result in surcharges being added to the total trip price. (To all our clients who are making a second booking, we offer a 5% repeat discount).
  • The prices of all tours are calculated based on a minimum of 5 pax. Prices may be reviewed up as may be required when group numbers are less than 5 or decrease due to opt-outs.
  • The company may cancel a trip at any time prior to or after departure if, due to terrorism, natural disasters, political instability or other external events, the trip is deemed not viable to go ahead.
  • The company is not responsible for any incidental expenses that the client may have incurred such as non-refundable flights, visas, or vaccinations. When a trip is cancelled by the company prior to departure, the clients have a right to a full low-price refund not including insurance premiums and amendment charges paid. Refunds are also subject to the individual cancellation policies of the service providers contracted to the tours.
  • When a trip is cancelled after departure, unused services compensations are negotiated by the company and service providers. This will be communicated to the clients once finalised. The company is not under any obligation to refund in cash any unused services. Some services may be kept in credit for clients to use at a later travel date.
  • In the case of a client cancelling their trip, the cancellation should be submitted in writing to us, by the person signing the booking form. The booking is still active until such a written cancellation is received by us. If cancellation by a client is received 60 days or more before departure, the appropriate deposit shall be forfeited. Any deposits paid to service providers towards the tour may also be affected by the individual service provider’s cancellation policies.
  • For cancellation by a client 30 to 59 days prior to departure, the company will retain the deposit and 50% of the total tour cost. For a cancellation made by a client less than 30 days prior to departure, the company will retain 100% of tour costs. If a client leaves a trip for any reason after departure, the company is not obliged to make any refunds for the unused services.
  • Transferring a booking to a third party must be received in writing by the company at least 60 days prior to trip departure. In such an incident, a USD $200 administrative fee is required per person, per change. This does not include any changes levied by accommodation, ground operations or airlines.
  • The company reserves the right to accept or reject such amendments if the transference does not meet all requirements in relation to the trip or if it is not possible to fulfil such a transfer due to the trip validity period.
